Hi dnz! Great! Would you mind explaining us briefly what the problem was? Then we can learn from it and other people who face the same problem as well. Thank you! Marius

Hi Thibault, I assume you have LayTheme installed already. To add an addon you need to install it via the Plugins page and not the Theme page. [image: 1490707500379-bildschirmfoto-2017-03-28-um-15.24.47.png] Is that what you did? Looking forward to hear from you! All the best! Marius

Hey Marius thank you very much for the reply! I checked and matched the database name together with the one in the wp config file. I wouldn't have some rights to write, interesting, strange because I own the domain so everything should be open for me. How can I update the PHP version or check if the htaccess is legit? Thanks again, I'll try to move to another server if it doesn't work. P.S. Any news about the infamous 1und1 problem, if it had been fixed?

Heyhey, thanks a lot for resetting! No, the guy with the glasses might have been our junior designer. He probably made some coffee for you guys :) I just heard about your name after you were finished. Otherwise I had said hello … :) I just recognized that we have some mutual friends on Facebook :) Thanks again!

hey bohemi! "lay options" -> "custom css & html" -> custom html at top <a class="close-button" href="http://boe2.de/arbeiten/"><img src="http://boe2.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Button_rechts_cross_v2.png"/></a> "custom <head> content": <style> .close-button{ display: none; } body.type-project .close-button{ display: block; position: fixed; top: 20px; left: 20px; z-index: 10; width: 20px; height: 20px; } .close-button img{ width: 100%; } </style> This is a simple example, I admit to do this properly you would need some html and css experience as this is not a standard feature by lay theme but probably it should be somehow.

hello please read above "If your website gets a fatal error and doesn't work at all, please send an email to armin.unruh@gmail.com. This happens because you use an old version of lay theme that is not update-able."

@arminunruh thank you for the reply. i am now building the site and something buggy keeps happening in category's, every time i try and add a new category i get a error message like this. [http://www.jasonnocitostudio.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?action=edit&taxonomy=category&tag_ID=0&post_type=post&message=3](link url) then when i go back to categorys page and refresh the category shows up.seems weird it wont just add category without error. please advise!

Hey you can try to create a child theme using this info here https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes I didn't have child themes in mind when I created lay theme. I think a great reason to do child themes is to be able to replace certain parts of the parent theme with your own templates. Like for example you want a post to be different, so you just have the file single.php in your child theme and that overrides the single.php of the parent theme. However, lay theme's frontend is just a javascript application, one .js file. So then the question is if it makes sense at all to do a child theme. You can change lay theme a bit by using custom css, custom javascript and custom html, all of which is explained in the documentation on laytheme.com

Hey pan, on some servers the activation doesn't seem to work. :/ Nonetheless lay theme will work fine.

I also code custom websites or custom Lay features.
💿 Email me here: 💿
info@laytheme.com

Before you post:
  1. When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
  2. Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
  3. Disable all Plugins
  4. Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"

This often solves issues you might run into

When you post:
  1. Post a link to where the problem is
  2. Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
  3. If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
