yes. This is not a bug. Those settings are move to the CUSTOMIZER.

a basic course in Codeacademy about jQuery is a good start.
Otherwise google this like this: jquery random image

You can find some examples also in jsFiddle I suppose.

right now there is no way to use the project description somewhere else except below the Thumbnails.
You can of course hide it with CUSTOM CSS.
.descr { display: none !important; }
We will consider your idea though.

there is not really a way. You would need to come up with a custom made jQuery function.
Pretty complicated. Not recommendable.

But I write it down for the future.

Before you post:

When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
Disable all Plugins
Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"

This often solves issues you might run into

When you post:

Post a link to where the problem is
Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
