Carousel crops images

Hello there,

I'm struggling with apparently a simple issue with the carousel add-on.

I'm trying to have both portrait and landscape images in the carousel, but - even after fixing the aspect ratio both to more wide or high ratios - I always end up with either cropped portrait images or very small landscape images.

I just want the images to have a fixed height (not width) but also that option seems to be not working.

I'm probably missing something here but any help is appreciated!

reading some other threads, I've found an example of the carousel I'm aiming to

simple and smooth, with both portrait and landscape images.
I'm wondering if in my case it can be a bug

eeeeeh ok wait – I might have found the issue!

With the sliding effect, the carousel works (and doesnt crop the portrait images!), whereas with no transition, it does crop them.

I'm glad at least to have found a valid alternative but I'd still rather have no transition in the carousel , so I probably still need your help :)

what about using CUSTOM CSS to give the box a full width?
