Counter Fixed in Corner

Is it possible to use either carousel or fullscreen slider to center images, add caption below, and counter fixed in bottom left/right? Additionally, is it possible to change the counter from "1/12" to just "12"?

my shot would be… don't hate me for this … do a tutorial in Codeacademy about CSS.
They are pretty good any I think you might come up with a solution afterwards.
