Interactive titles over each project thumbnail
-
Hi everybody,
I would love to know how to make my site a bit interactive in a very simple way - by making the titles of each project or category e.g: www.alexandralunn.com to appear above each thumb nail of the projects. Is this customised css and html? Should I talk to a web developer about it? Thomas does is beautifully here: http://thomaskorf.com/
I am really looking forward to your replies,
Alexandra

Hey Alexandra, first insert a project thumbnail by clicking "+Project" in the gridder.
Then go to "customize" -> "project thumbnails" -> "project title" -> "position" set that to "on image" -
@arminunruh thanks

@arminunruh But what if it is a category? I have four categories: branding, print, illustration and animation! Screen Shot 2016-04-25 at 16.47.48.png
I linked them with the category's link by clicking on the bottom right link icon and then copied and pasted the URL in so that when you click on the image it takes you to all of the projects in this category....
the category back end doesn't have similar options to manage the titles like this: "project thumbnails" -> "project title" -> "position" set that to "on image"
So I got some images and did it myself in illustrator. The downside is the text is static and doesn't move when you hover over it.

I think u have a very old lay theme version installed thats why some options may be missing. I think i had emailed you the new version a few days ago, can you check?

I did do the de-install old version and re-install with the 21st March 2016 version twice but my problem still remains - hovering mouseover category thumbnails, not project thumbnails.

On your website I saw you often just have an image that you used a link with. Maybe the project thumbnail options are not applied because you just have images that you linked instead of project thumbnails that you added using the "+Project" button
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
