Project thumbnail mouseover state on mobile
-
Hi There,
I have found that project thumbnail behavior 'Show mouseover state on tap, tap again to enter project'
does not seem to work on mobile.I am testing on an iPhone and have found the first tap takes you directly to the project rather than showing the mouse over state (thumbnail title). There is a quick flash of the title but it is to fast to read.
my site is here... https://gordonyoungdev.net/category/work/
any ideas?
Thanks

Hi —
Unfortunately, Hovers aren't possible on mobile devices as there is no persistent cursor - memory of the last touched point by default.

Hi,
I see, if I could get it to work like this site on mobile that would be perfect.

Any ideas, can I add some custom CSS for mobile to achieve that?
Thanks.

@yojo I'm having this same issue, I seem to have the tap, tap again to enter project behavior working when I create a page with Project Thumbnails, but when I access the mobile edit screen for the first time, I am asked to choose whether to stack all items or copy the same layout as on desktop, or leave blank. Once I choose one of these options the tap to enter project does not work. Why this is the case I don't know. I have set the behavior on mobile devices to show mouse over state on tap, tap again to enter. Any insight here @arminunruh ?

Dear @andrewbmcgill
Can you post a link to your website?
We will then have a look and inspect that!
Many wishes!

Hi there, I'm currently having the same issue. I have the option 'Show mouseover state on tap, tap again to enter project' selected, but this isn't working on mobile.

can you update lay theme and if you use a caching plugin, clear that cache?
i fixed this with the latest version
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
