Hide footer-pages from search engines
-
I know it kinda sounds weird:
But is there a way or a fix or a feature planned where one would be able to tell which pages are meant to be footers?
I’m asking because if there is some specific texts in the footer one is able to find a footer as a page via google. Because of the rest of the content missing these pages usually don’t look that nice.

Well, in general it would be good to not show footers for (google) search results. The content of the footers should be crawlable as usual but link to a complete page where the footer is embedded instead linking to the page used as a footer.
Does that help to clarifiy?

Dear @edgrbnz
Yes i understand now! sorry for being foolish, makes complete sense.
This is a really good point and forward to Armin :)
Have you tested this already & found you are accessing footers easily with search engines?Best

Thank you Armin and Richard,
I looked into the Google Removal tool but it only seems to be a temporary solution.
Is there anything that could be done inside LayTheme to tag footer pages, so they don’t show up in search results?
It could be a helpful feature for not yet published projects or pages aswell → A checkbox like ›☑️don’t crawl/index‹ for pages, projects or even categories. All in all this is a minor issue. Just wanted to let you know!
