the color doesn't change when customizing hover text link

Hey! I have the Hover Addon on and I want the text to get a different color when I hover on it (apart from showing a photo).
I went to Customize and tried to change the color but nothing happened.
All the plugins are updated.. what to do? Thanks!

I made screenshots:

1. in Customize > links in text > mouse hover: I choose color green
2. I hover but the color does not apply to the text, only to the line.
