    Hello,
    I'm wondering if, Polylang, the plugin you recommend to translate the site also works for product descriptions (and other purchasing infos) when using the Woocommerce plugin?
    Thanks!

      Dear Bella

      @Bella

      WooCommerce offers specialised Polylang for WooCommerce :

      https://polylang.pro/downloads/polylang-for-woocommerce/

      However it is quite pricey..

      The standard Polylang is free, I was also very curious so did a test and the Language features that would normally appear to duplicate a page or project do not appear within the Product settings. I would assume that it does not work - Which is why there is a paid service in the first place.

      WooCommerce has control with this one sorry Bella, hope this is helpful 🌼

      Sincerely
      Richard

        @Richard , thanks for your reply. Hm yeah that is unfortunate.

        Since I will be selling more high-priced items (artworks) it is a pretty important thing that people really feel safe when they're checking out and I think that the language changing in the last step of the purchasing process might throw some off (and even more so people that aren't comfortable with English).
        Do you think there would be a possible workaround for this?
        A way to have the product description still in Lay Theme somehow and then only the very last step of the client entering their data in English?
        I'm still setting up everything so I'm not completely clear on how Lay Theme and Woocommerce work together/what info lies where and at what point they connect.
        It would be a great help if you could clarify this a little so I understand where the site "switches" over to something that Woocommerce provides.
        Thanks so much!

          Dear Bella

          @Bella

          Sorry for the delay. Because of the importance of this step for you and your customers, i wouldn't suggest a work-around or fix in this case.

          As found earlier, Polylang (free version) does not work with WooCommerce likely for the reason they wish you to purchase PolyLang (WooCommerce).

          I can understand that you do not wish to proceed without knowing. I unfortunately cannot help you fully with this one. except that if you are dealing with Customers inputting personal 'data' that you go with whatever WooCommerce suggests.

          " I'm not completely clear on how Lay Theme and Woocommerce work together/what info lies where and at what point they connect.

          This is also a bit tricky to answer precisely. WooCommerce controls Products, Carts, Analytics, Purchases, Banking details. It interacts with Laytheme in that it appears on a Laytheme page. Laytheme is able to 'house' & 'display' WooCommerce's information and functions. The user can install WooCommerce and interact and display its Functions within the Laytheme format or 'Theme Style'.

          Sorry to not be completely clear with an answer but this decision is up to you. I say this with sincerity Bella.

          Hope you understand and wish i can help further if you need :)

            @Richard Oh thank you for this reply and explanation! I have only just seen that you answered.
            Thanks again, I will try to proceed as far as I get without the plugin and then might have to consider using the yearly paid for version.
