Password protection Version 2.5.6
-
Hi,
I am looking for a way to password protect a section of my website. I do not have the Visibility edit option displayed. Is it because I have Lay Theme version 2.5.6?
I've been using Lay Theme under free license and version 2.5.6 was the last update available for me. My website is very basic, I did not need any of the addons and until now this older version was perfectly fine for me. Thank you for this super nice theme. Maybe you could make me an offer to get a license?
Or Is there a simple solution for password protecting projects in my case?
Thanks!

Dear @llll
There would be a few options.
Firstly you may wish to custom code a password protected page, i am unsure your coding skill, and wouldn't wish to assume anything 🌝https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9381479/password-protect-a-web-page-using-css-html
Secondly you could try many simple Password Protection plugins - Maybe one of them works fine with Lay Theme and since you are not upgrading will provide a long-term solution.
Thirdly would be to buy a Single License, though i completely understand that version 2.5.6 is working for you! ✨
Talk soon @llll & best wishes

Hey @Richard
can you please tell me, why the input field are shown twice?
https://www.mikeabmaier.com/tipico-previewi just selected the visibility option "password protected"?!
I guess it has something to do with woocommerce?!

Dear @dingdong
Yes i think it's WooCommerce.
I cannot say how this will change in the near future as WooCommerce bugs 🐛 are worked out.Does the short-term solution of removing it work for you? E.g:
#lay-woocommerce .post-password-form{ display:none; }
.lay-content .password-form{ display:none; }
Talk soon & have a wonderful day 🌝

@llll hey there is no free lay theme version :D
ok yea thats a bug, thanks for the heads up
if you dont sell anything on your website you can just disable woocommerce and then it should be fine.
going to fix this
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
