                Hey everybody, so I finally got around to updating my MacOs and I just looked at it on Safari.

                The background video works for me :O
                Screenshot 2021-11-30 at 09.21.56.png

                However, when I look at my Safari version it seems to be Version 15.1 (17612.2.9.1.20)
                and yours is 15.0

                Maybe there was a bug with the Safari 15.0 version

                @shbln you might want to check out your website, it seems to be down

                  @arminunruh

                  thanks for your feedback. The website was down due to IONOS having issues this morning in Germany. It is now live and running.

                  The bug ONLY appears in Safari Mobile (!) latest versions of iOS and Safari.
                  The latest version of MacOS Monterey seems to have fixed the issue on desktop, however on iOS and Safari it’s still there.

                    however, i can see that on iOS Safari the background video just doesn't autoplay anymore. Will definitely fix this now.

                      hey everybody and @shbln
                      after trying to fix this for the iphone safari browser i googled it a little more
                      and found out that any videos that are position fixed like background videos currently dont work on any website when visited with safari - not just lay theme websites

                      i tried the recommended fixes without success and i recommend for now you use a background image instead of a background video and wait for the next ios update

                      with the latest ios update, apple enabled a default setting for some gpu accelerated video processing which causes this bug. so it is a ios / ios safari bug :O

                      here's how to disable it:

                      the recent macos update fixed the bug for safari already.
