Frontpage is not working/ Cant' set a Frontpage

Hey guys,

I have a problem with setting the frontpage. If I set a page as a frontpage, it is accessible under the domain but is not linked to "Pages" as a frontpage. The page I have set as frontpage does not take over the domain but keeps the old name (in this case "sumodiaper.com/english“) but is still displayed when I enter "sumodiaper.com" in the browser. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? I tried everything and everything is also updated :)
The page "English"/ our start page must be able to be set as sumodiaper.com so that we can insert the Navigation and the language switch.
Maybe you can help me out? I don't know what to do anymore. :(

Are you able to set sumodiaper.com as the front/page and then using the Language plugin make sure that http://sumodiaper.com/english is the default setting, therefore by going to http://sumodiaper.com/ you automatically get directed to the english version. Normally this is what would occur.

Any screenshots you can take may help too! 🌝

Thanks for your quick reply! :)

So the problem is that Laytheme doesn't accept the frontpage and so I can't use navigation on a onepager without it jumping to another page. sumodiaper.com/english should become sumodiaper.com. Like it always works with the frontpage (see example "Home-Startseite" from another website).
In the browser the "english" is shown under the right domain (as frontpage) but not taken over at Laytheme "Pages". see screenshot. That's why I can't create a navigation on sumodiaper.com.

Sorry if i don't understand properly. You would like to set the english as the "startseite"

The way the language information is displayed in your URL structure/permalink is normally defined within the language plugin settings. You could also look into "Permalinks" within the admin settings:

Once again wish to help and sorry if i am not understanding.
Does the frontpage issue affect the users navigation of the actual website or is it just that the URL address is not the desired address aesthetically?

No Problem! Yes, I just want to set "English" as Frontpage in the Customizer, but this ist not working. The language aspect doesn't matter for now. :)

— Both, unfortunately. The URL is not right from an aesthetic point of view but also from a practical point of view. Normally, the page that is selected as the front page in the customizer takes the URL that you also pay for at the web host. In this case it should be "sumodiaper.com". But this is not the case here.
