Instagram + Twitter feeds (add ons for business site)
-
Hi Armin,
Im thinking about using laytheme to make a new site for my brothers business. (www.icekitchen.co.uk)
At the moment their website is really bad and it needs to be sleek and simplified.
Unfortunately I have almost 0% knowledge of code or webdesign, but as a graphic designer I feel comfortable using your brilliant lay theme!
Looking around I havent seen many people use laytheme for anything other than a portfolio site (I know thats what you designed it for) but I think it has a lot more potential.
I am fond of the http://www.sursac.es/ website that was built on laytheme. It seems to work as both a commercial site and a portfolio, however I believe the Ice kitchen site would be slightly more complex.Firstly I would like to know if I can insert live instagram and twitter feeds? this is important to us as we want a strong relationship with our customers.
Second is it possible to add an enquiry form that sends an instant email?Lastly are you aware of many people that have used laytheme for anything other than a portfolio site?
I would greatly appreciate more references of what is possible within the software. Thanks so much, I love laytheme and cant seem to bring my self to learn anything else!

Hey Peter!
Haha, thanks a lot for your kind words!!
Unfortunately, I think laytheme is not the right tool for the job here :/.
There are wordpress plugins to have contact forms, instagram feeds, etc. However, they don't work with lay theme :(
I wrote a little technical explanation about why they don't work here at the bottom: http://laytheme.com/troubleshooting.htmlMaybe this works better for you? http://www.layerswp.com/

Yep, Instagram is very useful for a small business. I have a few profiles for my each branch of it. And also better to use something like zen-promo.com to promote profiles, get followers and so on.

hey scoobydooh, u can embed instagram using "+more" -> "+embed"
if you need to embed live feeds you can use a service like https://www.juicer.io/ and embed it by copying their embed iframe code and entering it with "+more" -> "+html" in the gridder.
