Custom php code system for editing Woocommerce functions
-
hey what do you need to change about woocommerce files?
you can create a child theme.
however, if lay theme just uses the index.php and page.php files for delivering contentoftentimes themes have much more php files that you can overwrite for people to overwrite using child themes
so you can create a child theme for lay theme, however in many cases it just doesn't make much sense and using lay options -> custm css & html makes more sense
however, in your case it would make sense because you could overwrite woocommerce templates
you know if you create a child theme, it can contain a folder called "woocommerce" and you can place woocommerce template files inside to overwrite lay theme's and woocommerce's template files

@arminunruh thanks for your reply.
It's not the woocommerce files that I need to change, I need to add functions to the functions.php file to alter the messaging behind the back order products and a few other tweaks that I know how to do and would usually put in a child theme but had read that lay theme isn't compatible. Will give it a try.
