CARtcart duplication in menu

Is this bug any closer to being resolved?
Use case:
Primary menu for desktop - Shop menu item is both a page link and has a drop down for the cart.
Primary menu doesn't function on mobile as Shop menu item's function as a page is prevented and only acts as a toggle for the cart menu item.
Can't use the secondary menu for menu due to CARTCART bug.
Currently getting around this with duplicated menu items and showing and hiding via CSS depending on screen size but would rather not have this hack!

Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options ā Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
