mobile preview bug since imagehover / Laytheme update
-
Hey togehter,
since I updated my laytheme and also the image hover, my mobile side has a problem loading properly on many different devices. On desktop, I use a simple text as a index, so I could link all my preview videos in there as a video hover. For the mobile side, I used the same preview videos but placed them directly on the front page, so people could click them.
Have a look here: www.yannickmueller.com
Anyone else with new problems since the update?
Thx! -
Sry, once again, because my mobile side is completely crashing my phones as it does to others aswell... Also Google Pagespeed Insight is showing an error for the website. It cannot load. I would love to know what I can change in laytheme, because I didn't change anything but updating the image over addon and laytheme itself. Thank you.

yea its loading too many videos at the same time, so it crashes on iphones

ive seen this issue before on iphone safari. when too many videos are loaded at the same time, the site crashes
i will need to code it so on a phone, when you use a custom phone layout, the desktop layout videos are not loaded, only the phone layout videos are loaded.
i've coded this for the other videos already, but for videos of the imagehover addon, i haven't coded this yet
are your videos even showing on the phone layout?

can you please update lay theme and the imagehover addon now?
i just changed things so now the videos get lazyloaded.
this way the desktop videos don't get loaded when you just open the website on a phone and just view the custom phone layout!
also i removed some old imagehover addon markup that caused too many images to get loaded
lmk if it works now
and make sure if you have a caching plugin on your website to purge the cache after udpating addon and lay theme
if it still doesn't work:
can you send your website address, /wp-admin/ username and password and a link to this topic to info@laytheme.com?
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
