fatal error after installation of laytheme
-
Hi there. After installing lay.zip in themes I can see nothing on my landing-homepage (like the other times I installed it). the domain is bittedrehensiedurch.de and I got an e-mail from wordpress saying (translated from german to english):
Hello!
WordPress has a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your website and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error in your theme “Lay Theme”.
First, visit your website (https://www.bittedrehsiedurch.de/) and check for any visible problems. Next, visit the page where the error occurred (https://www.bittedrehsiedurch.de/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=edit) and check if there are any visible problems.
Please contact your hosting company for assistance in further investigating this issue.
If your website seems to be broken and you can no longer access your dashboard as usual, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This allows you to securely log into your dashboard and conduct further research.
To protect your website, this link expires in 1 day. But don't worry: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after the deadline.
If you're looking for help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 6.4.2

thrownI tried to update laytheme to the latest version but that also didn't work.
error message: "An error occurred while updating lay: the old version could not be moved to the upgrade-temp-backup directory."
Can you help me?
kind regards and thank you,
Sunnyi -
your lay theme version is too outdated.
you'd need the latest version. if you haven't bought lay theme, there is no free version anymore. maybe u downloaded the free version many years ago?if you have ever bought lay theme you can always get the latest version on laykeymanager.com
you'd need to delete the "lay" folder in "wp-content -> themes" folder on your FTP
then your wordpress admin will be accessible again.you could also try setting your php version to 7, but would be better to use the latest version of lay theme

sure just write info@laytheme.com and can you let me know your key please
then i can also correct your email address so you'd be able to use laykeymanager.com
