new carousel update broke loop feature?
-
yes i had to disable infinite loop for touch devices
though on your desktop devices it should still work!since like a few months or half a year, many people's iphone's safari crash when things happen on the website that take a lot of computing power
i guess its like when a website uses too much computing power on your iphone, safari will just crash
see:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254843801?sortBy=bestso i had to disable loop for touch devices,
because for many people their whole website would just crash when loop was on -
especially on your website adam, when i was on it with my iphone safari, as soon as i started swiping on your carousel, just one small flick and the whole website crashed ^^
-
oh yea i see even on desktop, your loop is disabled.
i cant reproduce that on my lay theme installationare u sure you did all the steps in the blue box?
like update lay theme too. and disable any caching pluginif that won't fix it:
can you send your website address, /wp-admin/ username and password and a link to this topic to info@laytheme.com? -
wow this all makes sense, thank you for the rundown on why infinite loop is not compatible with mobile browsing. i must have not noticed this because i browser on the iOS chrome app!
i updated all plugins again on my WP back end, and the infinite loop is back on both mobile and desktop, and now i'm noticing that the site is indeed crashing on the mobile instagram browser. was the infinite loop brought back in a recent update?
-
what? no the infinite loop should always be disabled on phone ^^
ok it seems to be enabled on instagram browser still?
ok im going to fix that now -
ok if you update now it will also be disabled for instagram browser on your phone
-
thank you armin, the update worked and all looks good now on the IG browser (:
-
nice! very good
i think i should test if looping works on chrome for mobile and at least enable it there maybe mmh
-
i think it would only crash if i had over 100 chrome tabs open. so maybe its still a mobile device bug in general ;(
-
ah yea? mmh
