mailto: link issue

Hello,

I noticed an issue with the "mailto:" link. When I input a new email link like "mailto:your@email.com", instead of opening my email program as usual, it opens a new tab to Microsoft.com, Google.com, or Yahoo.com (it varies depending on the email provider). I'm confused because I've always done this and it's worked fine. If you have a solution, I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes, I can confirm the issue. When 'mailto:...' is entered in the link field, it is not transferred to the code but changed to a www-url. Lay Theme Version: 7.1.3

so @Eloha this just comes down to what email program is set as your default program!

are u sure u are entering it like this? for me this works!

can u go to appearance → themes in /wp-admin/ and make sure u dont have like 2 lay themes installed and have the old version activated or sth

cause i fixed this a very long time ago

Maybe it's a different problem, dunno.
I haven't installed a second lay theme and as you recommended, I deactivated all plugins and cleared the cache before testing.

Yes, the source code method works fine, I will work with it, the "set link" does not work. But maybe I will re-download and re-install the theme in the next days.

If you click on these square brackets, you can change the source code.

Here you can set a link 'mailto:openair@openair.com' like Armin explained:

mmh oh i see! yes i think i know now why it happens, will release an update later today

It seems that this issue has returned? My "mailto:" link is no longer working on https://patternsofmigration.com/online-exhibition/ It's the styled button link towards the bottom of the page... I also tried it unstyled, with the same problem
