make project overlays transparten or non-fullscreen?

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of a meltdown trying to get the project overlays to look like the page overlay feature - I have a video portfolio site and I need only the vimeo-stream embed and a few lines of info text below to load in over my main page. I'd like the main page with its thumbnail grid to remain partially visible beneath but I can't find any way to do this with the project overlay. Any ideas? Thanks!

do you mean you want the project overlay to be like 50% width and then you see the page underneath in the other half?

or how do u want it to look
