do u use qtranslate-xt or which plugin do u use for translations?

and can you translate news with polylang, or is it just the $nextprojecttitle$ that is not translated?

Ok so with polylang, to translate news, you'd first need to go to:
languages - settings
Then under "custom post types and taxonomies"click "settings".
You will see:
make sure to check "News (lay_news)" and "News Category" as translateable

Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
