Text can't be placed freely now and round corners are in the way

I use free placed texts for project descriptions but now I can't make it place freely as this option doesn't appear anymore and the frame is so long so you can't see the end and make it even smaller. At the older texts it's still visible, but cloning/copying doesn't help either.

Also the option to have rounded corners is in the way to see everything fully when being at the very side. Is it a possibility to switch it off and on, when needed?

yes you can switch it off in "lay options":

yes i disabled place freely for texts.
because i wanted to stop people from using it for large texts.
cause when you resize your browser those texts often are not placed right.

it was more like for just placing images in a random way

if you update lay theme now, you can activate this setting in "lay options", in the "other" section:
