different links for Project Thumbnail Videos on mobile
-
Hello there!
Been a huge fan of LayTheme since years, I never asked anything and always found my answers on this forum. So first, thank you for this amazing theme and the hard work you put on updating/fixing it.My question is :
Is there a simple way to link a lower quality version of project thumbnails videos for mobile? Here on my website http://pierreangeaznar.com , the homepage is heavy because of projects thumbnails videos, I tried to optimize my videos as much as I could so it loads fast. It does load ok fast on mobile now I think but I was wondering if I can link lower quality videos for mobile without going into any php custom code.
Thanks again,
Pierre-Ange -
Dear Pierre-Ange
@ouipierreange
Thank you for supporting Lay Theme š
The source of the Video remains the same regardless of Desktop or Mobile Layout. Multiple versions of different quality are not kept like with images, so unfortunately custom code might be the only way.
Sorry to not be of great help Pierre-Ange talk soon

Just found this thread and was wondering if there are any plans to have a look at this issue?
File size is one aspect. However for me the main issue is that a 16:9 thumb doesn't look good on a 9:16 mobile screen and vice versa.
If there's anything I missed I'd love to be pointed in the right direction. And if not it would be interesting to know how to start tackling this issue. What to look at and where.
I assume this isn't something that can easily be resolved with a bit of css and java?

hi @Jens !
Do you use a project thumbnail grid?
Im thinking about adding aspect-ratio functionality to it, so this could be settable for desktop, tablet and phone -
Hi @arminunruh!
Thanks for getting back. -Yes, I am using the thumbnail grid. It would be a great feature to have options for the three device types.
