External Video in Thumbnail Grid Not Triggering AJAX Page Transition

When I place a video in a thumbnail grid using Use External Video, clicking on it doesn’t trigger the AJAX page transition. How can I fix this?

are you sure you inserted a valid URL like:

mh thats weird! at first glance, everything looks correct, but yea ure right it doesnt work.

of course you could also try the steps in the blue box to the right first:

maybe it has sth to do with any of those points, not sure though

ah now i see the issue.

you're using a shortcode for the video player.
every page that contains a shortcode will make the website do a hard reload when you navigate to it.

This is because shortcodes often need JavaScript to run additionally. This JavaScript would not get triggered because it relies on a document.load event

What you could do is you could just not use your custom video player plugin and not use shortcodes on your project pages.

So in summary it has nothing to do with the external video source, but its because of the shortcode
