website no longer displays contents, wp dysfunctional
-
Hi,
a website I built a while ago with Wordpress and Lay Theme, which was free at the time, stopped working (hard to say when exactly). It doesn’t display any contents and it’s also impossible to open …/wp-admin. It’s difficult to find the problem, and just to exclude possible reasons, I am wondering if it’s possible that it has to do with a new – or now commercial – version of Lay Theme. Feedback is appreciated.
Thanks and best,

Hey john.c!
Ok ok. Hmm can you please try the following?
Connect to your ftp using a program like filezilla. Now please delete all plugins and themes in "wp-content"->"themes" and "wp-content"->"plugins". If you like you can download the plugins and themes before because they will be gone for sure if you delete them. Now try to enter the admin panel of wordpress. Does that work? If so now please update your wordpress. And then please install the latest lay theme which I'm sending you via email.
Lay Theme was free and everybody who got it back then can still use it for free. The problem was just that my updating service went offline and nobody could update lay theme anymore. But I'm sending the latest version for free to anybody who got it when it was free :D . That version is also updateable.

Great news! It's very kind. Thank you

Amazing, thanks.
I reinstalled wordpress manually via FTP, uploaded the new version of Lay Theme, reuploaded all the images, and reconnected the database via wp-config. It seems to be running fine again.
Unclear what the actual problem was. Also possible that the server was contaminated.
Best,

Hi Lloyd!
Best is if you write an email to armin.unruh@gmail.com and include a link to this conversation.
He will then send you the Theme.Do you not have the download link anymore?
Best!
Marius
