Feature mouseover image for regular images
-
Hi Armin and Marius,
have you thought about adding a mouseover feature to regular images? (Meaning: you can switch to another image on mouseover) I checked the forum and I found some options to realise this with custom css or jquery. As I want to find an option which is feasible also for my client i am wondering if you are thinking about integrating some feature like this in the future? Would be great!
Best,
Michael -
Hey @michael_vvc
not for the very near future. But a good idea. I will write it down into our good-idea-list.Best!

This would make so much sense.
A truly versatile feature. Because as I understand it, the Image Hover addon doesn't help me here. -
mmmh
im not sure if i will work on this because im not sure many people would use this -
Hi Armin and team,
I'm currently teaching the Lay Theme class in Halle, and it's been a lot of fun so far! Today, someone asked if a mouseover feature could also work for regular images, and it reminded me of my old post here—quite nostalgic!
Has there been any update on this? I noticed it's still a requested feature…

Need custom programming for your Lay Theme site?
I regularly add new features to Lay Theme for free, based on user feedback. But if you or your client need something more specific, I’m happy to offer custom paid programming tailored to your project.
Email info@laytheme.com with the subject "Custom paid programming for Lay Theme" and a short description of what you need — I’ll reply with a cost estimate.
Custom features I build often make it into future Lay Theme updates, so your idea might benefit the whole community.
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
