the issue was the shortcode [woocommerce_checkout] was inside the gridder instead of in the textfield at the top where it should be based on the documentation: https://laytheme.com/documentation/shop-setup.html#preparation

Dear Lo @Lo-Theme Installing Lay Theme's Lightbox Addon does not yet work with Woocommerce functions. A Woocommerce plugin will need to be found. Not all Woocommerce Plugins are guaranteed to work as mentioned by Armin here: "WooCommerce is a very feature-rich Plugin. So Lay Theme might not support every WooCommerce Feature." Please make sure Text Formats and Media Query settings are correct. In the following Link on the Documentation page, Armin has created a tutorial on how to apply CSS (stylings) on specific pages. In your case you wish for only shop related pages. https://laytheme.com/documentation.html#custom-css-styling The Icon showing on Mobile is likely a small bug that needs to be remedied. As Laytheme only just released Woocommerce support, over the next months hopefully all common Bugs will be identified & fixed. True true. I will think about that. I too think that a very simple woocommerce integration can have a great benefit for the theme. I dont think that I will integrate it anytime soon, as I am currently focusing more on the laygridder plugin.
