Problem with text block position
-
Hello,
I'm working on my website's redesign, and I have a few question.
Here is the future new homepage in desktop version for now : https://www.jeremypiret.com/category/new-design/
I copy'ed the 2 text blocks (projects list to the left and my bio the right) on this project page : https://www.jeremypiret.com/ilo-studio-churchill-copy/
But the texts doesn't position at the exact same height and width on both page, how come ? I checked the columns count and gutter and the frame position for boths pages, and they are the same (for the desktop version now)
Also, is there a option somewhere to make the pages load instant once they have been seen once ? It seems to reload every time, I'd love it to be more fluid like this website > https://jesskneebone.com
Thanks a lot !
Jeremy

You can to to lay options → transitions when navigating and set both of them to none

when you copy a text from a website and insert it into a textbox, the html can get copied over too which might change the position
can you copy the text, insert it into a texteditor like "sublime text" for example
then copy it from the texteditor, then insert this text into a new textelement in the gridder?this way you make sure you stripped all html tags from a copied text

I'm gonna try copying into a text editor and see if that works. Finger crossed.
Edit : still doesn't work. Is there a way I can copy a category page and make it a project page ? Since it's on my category page that my texts position in the way I'd like.
Edit 2 : I kinda made it work using X/Y spaces offset by right clicking the text block but I don't like that approach.
I tried finding the json line in my page's Chrome code but didn't find it.
As for the options > transitions I set them both to none but it seems that didn't change anything.

hey for pages you should always use a page or maybe a category page.
so pages are things like frontpage/homepage, about page or contact page.
dont use a project for the homepage, because a project can be part of a projectindex element, or a project thumbnailgridok im sorry it is still not in the right spot!
did you do the steps in the blue box? like disabling all plugins to see if it changes anything?if it doesnt work:
can you send your website address, /wp-admin/ username and password and a link to this topic to info@laytheme.com?
also:
can you please send me the link to the new page that you have problems with?
because you re-created the page not as a category but as a different page right.
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
