Overlay menu doesn't work on Safari

For some reason the overlay menu doesn't work on Safari (I have tried with various versions of Safari, both recent and older), on other browsers it works fine.
What could be the problem?

I noticed that it works if “https://” is in the url, but if it is missing, it doesn't work. How can I solve it?

you can go to your webhost's domain settings and configure the domain so it is always https instead of allowing http

also you can try to install the plugin "really simple ssl" and see if that changes things mh
