cart menu point not appearing on shop page

I recently set up a woocommerce shop for an independent magazine. Currenlty the shop is not active, none of the products are real. However, I set up a cart menu point, on mobile it is an icon, and on desktop the word "cart" appears. I have the settings set to hide the cart when it is empty.
However, when I do add something to the cart, it appears on all pages except strangely the shop page itself. It seems to work sometimes and then other times not at all.

Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options ā Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
