expanded row feature and link feature silmutaneoulsy possible?

hi there! i was wondering if there is a possibility to add two functions to the same menu point. basically i have created a menu with different project pages and when one of the menu points (aka project titles) is clicked, i would like the project text to appear below with the collapse / expand function while at the same time images of the project appear on the right side of the screen in a new page. i am using the split screen function, so that the menu stays on the left and the project pages appear on the right.
i attach an screenshot where you can see the menu with the collapsed sample project text. the right side is blank because i do not succeed to make the project page appear when clicking on the menu point.

maybe this is too complex what i want to achieve. however, if there is any chance this can be possible, i would be so grateful! i tried already changing the page's html code and adding jquery as well. but nothing worked out yet.
