    Hi Armin,

Client wrote to me the other day that for no apparent reason his website has slowed down drastically. Especially on mobile. I have checked with the server provider who said that everything is operative and there are no problems with the bandwidth on their end.

I installed a new WP Cache plugin which is integrated with the server provider (Krystal UK). We have compressed down all videos to less than half the size... and it still doesn't load right. Mobile is just broken.

    Any ideas?

I made a page with only six moving thumbnails and the SAME problem applies: simonshergold.com/home2

    Thanks,
    Jarek

@Jarek there is a total load of over 200 MB on the landing page, that is just way too much to operate smoothly. The videos are in 4K resolution which is also technically too much quality for a thumbnail. Do you know the software https://handbrake.fr ? It's a very good app to compress and resize videos without loosing quality. I would try to get each thumbnail video below 1 MB in size at a width of 1000px.

Thanks @felix_rabe . I hear you. We will try that – my concern was that the website worked reasonably well on desktop and mobile up until recently.

Hopefully if we crush the thumbs it will resolve the problem. Appreciate the feedback!

          is the speed ok now?

seems like you enabled "disable ajax / compatibility mode" in lay options.
you can try to disable that again, then you wont have hard refreshs on navigating inside of the website
