"News" posts not loading/displaying correctly
-
Hi there,
On the site https://venture-team.de, which we build with LayTheme, there is a bug regarding posts of the type „News“. If you click e.g. the thumbnail for the post „Umfrage“ in the news-section on the landing page, only an empty page opens. If you refresh this page afterwards, the correct contents load without a problem. This behavior appears on every browser we tested so far (Chrome, Safari, Opera).
The bug doesn’t appear if there is an external link defined in the page of the news post, but then the news post opens in a new tab, which is not what I want UX-wise (see the thumbnail for the post “MöglichMacher” as example).
Unfortunately, older solutions I found here (changing the News-Section-Name and -Slug, changing the permalinks, updating or deactivating the fullscreen-slider-plugin, updating LayTheme, turning off custom code, etc.) didn’t solve the problem. I might be just missing something – hopefully you can help me find my blindspot!
Thanks in advance,

can you install the plugin "really simple ssl" and activate the plugin
then
i think you need to go to settings → really simple ssland then somewhere there click activate or sth

if that doesnt work: can you send your website address, /wp-admin/ username and password and a link to this topic to info@laytheme.com?

I have a very similar problem on my site and it's critical. I'm dropping you a mail now.
Basically I have shortcode pointing to complex PHP code that is not loading on a news page in the initial page load, only after refreshing. This is a disaster. I'll explain more in an email. I hope we can find a solution fast. Thanks.

yea well we just had to activate "disable ajax / compatibility mode" in lay options.
and then there was a problem with your custom code, but we got it to work :Dbut this had nothing to do with lay theme's news feature, it was more like a compatibility problem with lay theme and ur custom code <3
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
