problems concerning smartslider and laytheme
-
Hello @arminunruh,
I'm currently updating a website using laytheme (latest version 8.9.1) and "smart slider 3", since the laytheme carousel does not fit the needs of the client. Anyways, I'm running into the problem of the slider not being visible on mobile devices, once I enable the mobile specific layouts. I add the slider with a shortcode.
I can confirm, that the html still is added onto the mobile page, but for some reason it seems like the slider does not initialize how it is supposed to. On desktop there's no issue (same shortcode and everything) and as I said ā once I use a shared desktop/mobile gridder layout, it also does not really have any problem. But for obvious reasons that is not an option for my client.
It seems more like a laytheme issue then a slider issue, so I'm hoping to find support here.
If you do want to replicate the behavior:
- Clean WP with laytheme and smartslider 3 (free or pro) installed
- Create a new slider based on a free ss3 template like "Free Full Width"
- Paste that shortcode into a page (ideally full width, but that should not matter i think)
Thanks in advance!

hey, if you post a link it might help :)

hey so if you disable custom phone layouts, does the slider show up on mobile then?
or, enable custom phone layout and:
if you create one slider for desktop, insert it into the desktop layout
and create a different slider of phone, and insert it into the custom phone layoutdo both show up then?
the issue could be that the plugin doesnt allow for the same exact slider twice. cause when using a custom phone layout, we have duplicate html on the website.
one is for desktop one for custom phone layouts
you may also want to try :
lay options ā disable ajax/compatibility mode

Hello @alasdair17 and @arminunruh!
Thank you for your swift responses.Yeah the slider does show up without the custom layouts. I tried now adding a different shortcode on mobile and that works! Looks like the first slider (desktop) gets initialized correctly and the second html does not. But the workaround with 2 different sliders is okay for me.
The ajax/compability mode did make a difference in this case, but good to know!
I consider this resolved, thanks again!
