full-width slider with links

Hi there,

I would like to use a full-width carousel slider on the front page that links to further projects and news. Ideally, the slider should include:
• a background image,
• a text element (using the available text formats),
• and a button linking directly to the article.

Basically, similar to the classic sliders in other plugins.
Is there a way to achieve this with the current Lay Theme carousel?

at the moment theres no setting to put text on top of an image in a carousel but i need to work on that
