Google Search Results
-
Hey Armin,
I seem to be having a problem with google search results. Searching for my site (site:bryanchu.co) only leads to my home page and about but none of my projects show up. Also searching for specific pages/projects on my site turn up no results. No images show up on Google images as well.
I feel like when I first finished the site it worked fine in google searches and this just started recently.
Let me know if there is a fix!
Thanks!-Bryan

Hi Bryan,
if and how Google indexes your site is a very complex matter.
It depends on many things like the content, links to and from your page etc.
The more written and good content you have the higher you get rated by Google. As a simple portfolio website with not much changing content you cannot expect to be high up in Google very fast or easily. It is always good to use a SEO plugin like YOAST but also it is important to get deeper into the topic if you want to push it.
There are many websites which explain you how to make your website visible on Google.
Sometimes it just takes time.
Let me know when you face problems!
All the best!

I understand not being a top search but when I search for specific keywords or projects nothing comes up. None of my project pages are visible on google.
For example searching for "site:bryanchu.co/museum-of-archaeology" yields no results but that is a direct link to a project on my site.
I'm just wondering if its something I did differently on my site because friends who have also created portfolio sites the same time as mine do not have this problem. When I search for their specific links on google they do appear.
Try this to fix issues before you post:
Use the Search Feature. Maybe there is already a solution to your issue.
1. Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
2. Disable all Plugins
3. Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code ", click "Save Changes"
4. Now see if your problem solved itself
5. Go here, see if your problem is listed here:
Troubleshooting
When you post:
1. Post a link to where the problem is
2. If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
