How to speed up site load time

Hi there,
Just wondering on if you have any tips on improving page load time on a Lay website?
I know wordpress isnt the speediest CMS but the site I have made for an artist is a bit slowwww...
Theres not even a huge amount of content. Even the contact page which is literally 2 lines of text can take 5 or more seconds to load up...
Theres quite a bit of script in the custom head HTML - could that be slowing it down?

Can you deactivate your custom code to see if this solves the issue?

Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options ā Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
