Fonts Not displaying properly
-
Hi,
I've recently launched my site, www.weareb.co.uk and for some reason the body and headline fonts are no longer displaying unless the computer has the fonts saved locally.
I have tried deleting the fonts and formats and re uploading but this hasn't helped.
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks,
Kyle

Hi @mariusjopen ,
Thanks for the help and for sending that link. I have tried those steps and I'm still having the same issue with the fonts not displaying as they should (fine on any computer with the fonts saved locally),
Here's the edit to the .htaccess file that was saved back to the site.
The problem occurred when I took the site live, switching from one url to the new one. The site looks pretty bad with the wrong styling so I'd really appreciate your quick help if you can.
Thanks Again,
Kyle

I also deleted and re-uploaded the .woff files and tried a third new .woff file. all of which don't display correctly, but they do show as the correct font when inspected in the console.

Hey!
As it says in my console:
(index):1 Mixed Content: The page at 'https://www.weareb.co.uk/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure font 'http://1pr12c1rpyze15f8us2uz5xn-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/YoungSerif-Regular.woff'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.
So the problem is your website is on https but it is trying to serve the font from "http://1pr12c1rpyze15f8us2uz5xn-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/YoungSerif-Regular.woff"
which is not https.
I recommend you login to your wordpress admin panel from here: https://www.weareb.co.uk/wp-admin/
Make sure the url is in fact "https://www.weareb.co.uk/wp-admin/" with https while you are in your admin panel. Then delete the webfonts in lay options -> webfonts. Then reupload them. If it doesn't work then, you might still have to re-select the newly uploaded fonts for your textformats.
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
