multiple categories

Hi @arminunruh, I just discovered lay theme a few weeks ago and I have to say is awesome!

We are creating a museum and gallery website using lay theme and this feature @man said is what we miss to filter and relate artworks to artists easily instead of manually.

ok so you want to be able to filter project thumbnails. like here for example http://meireundmeire.com/category/selected-projects/

so far we did not complete this issue. We are working on a big Update for Laytheme in general and might include it in one of the coming releases.

hi marius and armin, are there any news with the filter function? it would be great to have more than one category to eject. the sample from meiré meiré is great! i would like to use the "thumbnail grid" and want to show on the frontpage a selection of projects. it would be great if you can help! and by the way i don´t use the "next project" button, i only want a new category where i can put in selected works.

yes please: with multiple categories Lay would be unbeatable! With a Blog option and hierarchical menus extra-unbeatable.

The only solution I came up with is when I finish my website, I will duplicate all projects so they exist twice. The homepage will show all projects that belong to the "all" category, while my categories will show them again but each in their own category.

This way, clicking on a project from the homepage will take you through all ("all") projects, whereas clicking to select a category will take you to the next category project.

It's not ideal, but if the site is small, and not regularly updated, it could be a (sort of) solution.

im not sure if i understand what you mean.

you can put a project thumbnail grid on a homepage.
you can put it on a "work" page too.

project thumbnail grid:

you dont need to use category pages, you can just use normal pages and put thumbnailgrids on them.

when going inside one of the projects, you can click through them using one of these features:
https://laytheme.com/documentation/navigation-between-projects.html

it doesnt matter where you put your thumbnailgrids, you can always go prev/next inside a project.

not sure if i understand the question correctly though.
