Animated GIFs not playing on mobile

Very close to launching a site and we have a snag that we can't figure out. It looks like animated GIF's are being compressed for mobile devices which is causing the animation to break and become just a static image. GIFs are playing on Desktop, they're just not working on smaller devices when the smaller, compressed file is shown. Is there a workaround/fix for this? Can that particular feature be disabled for GIFs? We need them to play on smaller devices.

Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
