Thumbnail rollover colours and custom cursors
-
Hi Armin,
I’m trying to customise a couple of features on my site, but am so so far from being a coder I can’t work it out, apologies. Basically I’m looking to be able to control the colour of project thumbnails (I want to alternate posts between two colours) and would like to have custom cursors for the relevant cursor (default, pointer, e-resize, w-resize) linking to images. I've got close but can't quite get the coding right. Any pointers would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Olly -
Dear @ollyb
this is a difficult one.
Since you are not familiar with code – I think you will not manage. The only way for you to change the colour of a project thumbnail is to upload a coloured image. You can use it as mouse-over to change the image when hovered with a mouse.
To have a different cursor for each of them is not easily to achieve without knowledge of Javascript and CSS.
However:
If you use normal thumbnails – you could give each project-thumbnail an ID. For example green. Then you can use Custom CSS to change the colour and even the cursor. But if you use the project thumbnail-tool: Not possible for you.
It is always good to make some basic CSS and Javascript lessons on Codeacademy. That will make things easier in the future for you.
All the best!

Hi Marius,
Thanks for the response, much appreciated.
I think my wording in the question may have been misleading and made the question appear more complicated than it is, although again I could be wrong(...!).
I've got close to a solution for both, but just not quite there....
Regarding the cursors, this is close, im just struggling with the coding to change multiple cursors in the custom css.... http://laythemeforum.com:4567/topic/824/custom-cursor-pointer/2
With the rollovers, this works perfectly to change the text colour, just curious whether there was a simple change to make it the background instead of the text? http://laythemeforum.com:4567/topic/730/thumbnail-text-rollover/3
Thanks!
