missing style.css stylesheet

Hi,

I am trying to install Laytheme to my wordpress, but it is failing and says:

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme install failed."

Could you please help with this missing style.css stylesheet?

did you download the normal LayTheme Theme? not a plugin? Did you install it via Wordpress Themes?

I'm sorry, it's solved.

you need to make sure you unzip the file you got, inside there is the file lay.zip and additional plugins zips

lay.zip is what you upload as the theme

Hi,

i have the same issue. Can't find a lay.zip file in my unzipped folder anyway. The istallation worked perfekt with the laytheme, but it does not work with the caroussel add-on.

Hey! We're facing the same issue. All files were unzipped and the latest WP is already installed. Here's the message I get:

"The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme installation failed."

Original message (in German):

"Das Paket konnte nicht installiert werden. Dem Theme fehlt das Stylesheet style.css.

Theme-Installation fehlgeschlagen."

I installed the theme via wordpress. I still don't have a solution. I let you know, when i make it work.

@arminunruh armin helped to fix my problem.
My mistake was to try to install the add-on as a theme. It worked installing it as a plug-in. Hope this will help you.

hey read the instructions carefully on https://laytheme.com/installation.html

if you bought a license here https://laytheme.com/buy-now.html , that zip includes a lay.zip file which is a theme.
all other files are plugins

if you bought any of these https://laytheme.com/addons.html
those are plugins
