Can't set front page in Customizer

Hello LayTheme team,

I am not able to set the front page via "Customizer" on this site:
https://maschinenraum.hs-augsburg.de/2019

Is it because Wordpress is running in a subfolder "2019" of the domain? Furthermore there is a JS error in the console because somethings directs to "https://maschinenraum.hs-augsburg.de/wp-json/laytheme/search/" instead of "https://maschinenraum.hs-augsburg.de/2019/wp-json/laytheme/search/".

Well yes and no.

If you setup wordpress to run in that subfolder and wordpress knows that its URL is 'https://maschinenraum.hs-augsburg.de/2019' then everything should be fine.

But it looks like that you setup that subdomain afterwards, am I right?

If so you might need to migrate the Database (with the new URL) and tell Wordpress what its URL is. For the database it’s best to follow Armin’s instructions over here.
To tell wordpress its new URL you could add the following entries to your wp-config:

define( 'WP_HOME', 'https://your-wordpress-URL' );
define( 'WP_SITEURL', 'https://your-wordpress-URL' );

Or you can do that in the backend under Settings / General.

But please be sure to follow Armins moving a laytheme tutorial if any of the above applies to your situation.

Thanks for your answer.
I re-installed now Wordpress again without a subfolder:
https://maschinenraum.hs-augsburg.de

Anyway I am not able to set the front page. Everything else is working fine.
Any ideas?

you have to set the frontpage in the CUSTOMIZER and not in the normal settings page.

I have the latest Wordpress (5.0.3–de_DE) installed and LayTheme 2.7.4. There is no option "Front Page" in the Customizer. I also get an error in the JS console of my browser (see image attached). As mentioned earlier, when I use WP theme "Twenty Nineteen" I can set the front page via WP settings.

Ok. Just tested it in Chrome browser instead of Safari and here the option is available. It's strange and I have no idea why, but the problem is kind of solved now.
