New Carousel Update

@mariusjopen I used Laytheme early on, when it was free. And I bought 2 Plugins (Carousel, Slider). Seems a bit "unfair" that I have to spent another 50$ just to be able to keep using the updated Laytheme, don't you think?

@Hayo-Gebauer to me that doesn’t sound unfair → You can still use the versions you bought.
As Lay Theme advances over time it’s practically impossible to ship all new features to all past iterations of the theme. Keep in mind that it’s a very small team doing all this awesome stuff!

I’m not in any way affiliated with Lay Theme, I just wanted to help understand what might be driving the questioned decisions.

@edgrbnz I agree, it’s just that when I started using Laytheme it was free. But I ended up spending 60$ for addons, which I gladly did.

If you want to start using Laytheme today, you buy a license for 50$ + 1 addon with all future updates. Now I am stuck with an older version and no updates.

Seems like a disadvantages to be an early adopter.

If I now pay another 50$ just for the license key, I ended up paying 110$, instead of 50$ (I’m effectively only using 1 addon anyway)

Do you see where I'm coming from?

@Hayo-Gebauer I totally understand! But that unfortunately sometimes is the disadvantage of being an early adopter.

If you decide to buy a regular license right now you are supporting a great product which wouldn’t be able to exist without at least some financial resources.

I guess there’s something that can be done to get you a regular licence for a fair price, though 😉

I understand where your frustration comes from

You bought the Plugins - but to use them, you are now forced to buy the Theme License. Which you in the beginning had for free.

That you use only one plugin now is not really connected.

I will ask Armin what he thinks about it.

Ok so everybody who has this problem: You need to update both lay theme and carousel. To update lay theme, a valid key must be entered in lay options -> license key
