HTTP error when uploading any images over 1 mb

Hi,

I have been having this error for a really long time and now it seems to have got even more challenging. Basically if I upload anything that is over 1 MB it fails and I get an HTTP error (the photo of the book spread below the error message was a smaller file I had been able to upload previously.) This error may not be to do with Lay Theme but I'm not really sure - any help much appreciated!

I am using Chrome.

can you deactivate LayTheme and see if the problem remains once LayTheme is deactivated?

Apologies if this obvious, but do you mean choose to activate a different theme such as Illustratr under Appearance > Themes?

After I changed the theme as suggested I was able to upload an image of over 5mb.

Is there currently any solution to this other than switching between themes? Or shall I just do that for now and hope it gets solved at some point?

so to confirm:
As soon as you deactivate LayTheme, you are able to upload files bigger than 5MB?

Hi, yes I am able to upload files over 1 mb/5mb when Lay Theme is deactivated. I still can't upload anything 1mb or over with Lay Theme on and it's a faff to have to switch every time I want to add an image. Thanks, Laura
