Background color transition effect when exiting page

We are experiencing a delay in the change of background colour and content loading in from a new page when switching between items in the menu.
Have explored changing the "transition: background-color 0.1s ease-in" in css however the issue is when we are exiting a page and not landing on it.

Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options ā Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
