Major WP Admin issues
-
Hi Armin,
Theme is great although I've had multiple issues with the WP Admin recently. Firstly it wouldn't update so I've had to pay $49 to purchase another license just to get the admin re-installed and working. Now its back, it still doesn't work.
In the admin, whenever I make an amend to a page or project and press update, instead of updating the page it goes to the front end view of site and has a 404 error.
I'm up against a deadline and have been messing around for 2 weeks trying to get the site to work. Please can you respond with some sort of advice.
Thanks
Jonathan

hey jd!
Ok, as I saw before you had used the lay theme version 1.058. This one is very old and it couldn't update. Also you had the latest carousel addon installed. That one is incompatbile with lay theme 1.058. So nothing showed up and the website didn't work at all.Firstly it wouldn't update so I've had to pay $49 to purchase another license just to get the admin re-installed and working.
I looked through the purchases and I could only find one purchase made with your email jd@conductorstudio.com
Did you make another purchase with a different email before? I could give you a refund if you purchased lay theme too often.I wrote you an email, I think if I can login to your wordpress admin panel and take a look myself I can solve this.

Ok, in the end it was a hard to spot lay theme bug. I guess this was somewhat server-specific but going to definitely include this fix for the next update. I'm sure other people would have gotten this problem as well in the future. :+1:

This is fixed now for everybody with lay theme 1.8.0
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
