Here is some insight into what i have done :)

I created/added a class to your main text called "Special" by right clicking the Gridder Element and choosing " Edit HTML Class & ID"

Then I targeted this class and set some Custom CSS making the link's ( & span's ) change white on Hover:

body.slug-work .special span:hover{
    color:white !important;
}

body.slug-work .special a:hover{
    color:white !important;
}

This Code was added into " Lay Options- Custom HTML & CSS "

Regarding the Carousel, I made sure that all your Plugins & theme where up to date, Both the Theme and Carousel Addon needed updating:

After doing that and refreshing the necessary page it was working again.

When Adding text did you copy and paste if from somewhere else?
There was a lot of ( i think ) extra <span> <p> <a> data in behind the text within the code....
