      hello,

since i uploaded all the projects and the images the site doesent work well anymore. backend is very slow, frontend is very very slow.

pingom: for the landing page (only black text on white background - 2mb)
      Performance grade:C74
      Page size: 2.0 MB
      Load time: 12.28 s

      12.28 s!

      the site is:
      https://holzbauatlas.berlin/

all images are uploaded with 2000px/long side.
      _
within the projects i put the images in an element grid. does the element grid load the thumbnails or the complete images? is this the possible error for the site?
but if so, why everything is so slow?

      _
im very very happy for your help!
      best, Patric.

        Dear Patric @iciio

This has been a recurring thread recently so Armin has added a new topic to the Lay Theme Documentation providing solutions for speeding up your page :)

          hello Richard : )

thank you for your interest, also the link to the documentation.

im following most of the tips. it s not that i think i have a minor loading problem. the complete site + the backend loads tons.
the simple test site: with "test" on white bg takes 16 seconds.

diconnecting ALL the plugins doesnt change a thing. but when changing the theme all the images load quick, the backend works well.

          what do you think?

          thank you, Patric.

            Hey Patric,

            beautiful Website! Really nice...
I moved some weeks ago one lay theme website to https://www.cloudways.com. The old version was on Strato, very slow. Cloudways was much faster & better for me (10Dollar/month later). Migration PlugIn from Cloudways works very nice too. You can test the cloudways webspace for free for some days.
If the migrated version works better for you you can connect your domain with a DNS option and a Public IP to the new website, SSL and fin.
That was my way, no advertising :)

            Best!

              Hello Patric,
i think the problem are the projects. See line 1264 in the source code, its about 1 MB and not needed at this point.

When moving all the project to trash, the site load goes down from 10 to 1.2 seconds. Is there a way to prevent collecting all projects on page init if not needed @arminunruh ?

I know the data is needed for building the grid, but when the projects also get complex, the JSON array get a little bit messy (:

Cheers and thanks for your help
              Jens

Try this to fix issues before you post:

Use the Search Feature. Maybe there is already a solution to your issue.

              1. Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
              2. Disable all Plugins
              3. Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code ", click "Save Changes"
              4. Now see if your problem solved itself
              5. Go here, see if your problem is listed here:
              Troubleshooting

              When you post:
              1. Post a link to where the problem is
              2. If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it

              Thanks!
