HTML5 autoplay loop video behaviour in carousel with "slide" transition
-
Hi Armin,
I have encountered an issue with the HTML5 video behaviour:
I have placed an HTML5 autoplay loop video in a carousel, with "Transition: Slide". With these settings on mobile it is not possible to skip to the next slide by clicking on the video, only when swiping. I tested Chrome and Safari.
To clarify, the following elements are unticked:
– Play/pause on click
– Show Standard Controls
– Custom "Play" IconOnly the following are selected:
– Autoplay
– LoopOn another note, is there a way to set a different carousel transition setting on desktop and mobile? For example, I'd love it if I could set all of my carousel transitions to "none" on desktop, and to "slide" on mobile. – The reason is that I find it more intuitive to swipe images on mobile, plus this function also works when the image is simply clicked which to me makes a good UX. However, I personally find it tedious to watch the images slide on desktop. Or is there a way to adjust the transition speed to very high (so I wouldn't notice the sliding)?
Many thanks for looking into this.

Hi!
Ok thanks for the heads up, this is probably a bug. I'll try and fix it soon!
Its a good idea!
For now you could create a custom phone layout and then have a slider that works differently. -
Hey so if you update both Lay Theme and the Carousel Addon the Bug is fixed
Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
This often solves issues you might run into
When you post:
- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
